I have chatting Liam Tancock, world champion 50m back long course record holder, send me a facebook about his swim sessions. He swims 10 Pool Sessions, 60k a week, 3 weights sessions, and a couple of circuit sessions.

Impressive indeed - wonder what circuit sessions is.

Circuit session could be about anything. Either all dryland, dryland mixed with swimming, maybe even mixed with weights if he has access to it at the pool.

most impressive indeed. 60k...?!?! That's really and I mean REALLY REALLY a lot! Especially if you look how he's swimming his races. There is no doubt that he has INCREDIBLE speed in the 50 back. But thenn look at his 100 back. Compared to his 50, it isn't anywhere near where it should be. And the fact that he's swimming 60km a week gets me even more wondered about that!
I'm so fast that last night I turned off the light switch in my hotel room and was in bed before the room was dark.

Liam's stroke rate in backstroke is off the charts. Perhaps that is why he is so fast in the 50. Not sure how much his stroke rate changes in the 100 but it might be too high for that distance. Just a thought.

I did mention this thread to Liam and hopefully he'll join us in the near future to let us know some of his view points about this particular topic.
